Will 71 and older door panels fit in a 1972

??? I found an older set for a fair price, Will they fit a 72? has anyone ever done this?

You can make them work, but they are not a "bolt on".
72's are molded plastic and used push on clips to hold them to the door, whereas 71 an older ones are flat steel (some are upholstered, some are painted) these slid into a retainer at the top (which is screwed to the door) and used screws at the bottom, Also 72 used longer shafts on the door handles and window regulators.

The doors can be made to accept the 72 panels. You may have to get the 72 window regulators and door controls also, they have longer shanks than the 67-71's. No to say the older parts "wont work"

My suburban has pre-72 panels, so it can be done.
