Fender Emblem Placement
I have some OEM fender emblems I bought off Ebay and I want to install on my 87, but the PO had the mounting holes filled when he painted the truck. I can't find any diagrams that shows correct mounting locations to place them. Can someone give me measurements for placement, Im thinking measurements from the body line and to the edge of the fender where it adjoins the door would be perfect.
All the original studs are broken on the back of the emblems and I would also like to know the best/most secure way to attach the plastic gaskets to the backside and then attach the emblems to the fenders. Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Fender Emblem Placement
I don't have the measurements either, but 3m makes a double sided tape that is specifically for mounting emblems and stuff.

Re: Fender Emblem Placement
I looked in 3M website and they offer 2 solutions to mount them. The first option is called plastic and emblem adhesive which is like a glue, and the second option is emblem double sided tape. Not sure which is better to use and the pros/cons of each application

Re: Fender Emblem Placement
I use 3M double sticky back tape all the time at work. We use this tuff to apply Stainless steel placards to the front/sides of stainless steel cased ticket vending machines, we use stainless because of the caustic environment they are subjected to (can you say urine, got to love the public)
The best 3M offers is a thin “solid green” backing (not checkerd) and or the clear double sticky back tape. Never had to buy this, we keep it in inventory, not sure how much a roll costs. Keep in mind you use these 3M products you “will” remove the paint if you take the emblems off again. Tip: Clean (lightly) both surfaces with rubbing alcohol prior to application of the tape |

Re: Fender Emblem Placement
if you mount using original studs your gonna have to pull the fenders off the truck, once those are off you can probably see where the holes used to be located
