Please read and advise about 1969 C10

Hello everyone, I have a 69 C-10 that I just cant finish. I have been working on it for three years. Every piece that I have taken off was cleaned, treated and painted black then put right back on. The big problem is the cab is shot including the doors, and the right front fender. I have sanded, cleaned, treated and painted the frame, bed, front end and so on. Electrical is all still hooked up and works turbo 350 trans is great, rear end is a 12 bolt. Have a 1972 sbc 400 block, and all the original trim etc. etc. I do not want to see it scraped I think with about 3500-5000 dollars it would be an awesome truck. I even know where all the parts are, even a cab to put it together I just cant save the lump sum it needs to be finished. I have loosened every bolt but kept it all together. My wife feels for me and wants me to get a toy I can use now instead of having the truck sit in the garage for years. She is going to get me a Harley as soon as this is out of the way. Kinda heartbroken how do I get rid of it? Have title, and vin plates are still on the cab. I really do not want it junked, any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

Kind of a heart breaking story really, interests can change. I know what its like to have parts spread far and wide, quite frustrating. I've looked at other trucks and wondered what I will do with my current project and the only thing I could figure was to sell it piece by piece. Now I'm back on track trying to get the rust repair done on my cab and get it off to paint.

If you know where a good cab is, why don't you buy it? It shouldn't be more than $500-$700 for a decent cab, then you would be on you way to finishing it!

Re: Please read and advise about 1969 C10

Do you really want to finish it or take the lumps and move on to the bike? How long has it been since you worked on the truck? Is it a long bed or a short bed ? How much do you think you could sell it for? If in the super super duper soft economy right now the truck only could bring half of what you think it should, would you walk away from it or hold on to it and not get the bike yet? Some of these questions need to be answered for you only for your benifit so that you can be better ready to face the situations that may arise from the possible sale. Now , if you don't want to deal with all that I could arrange to haul it away at your conveinance [just kidding] welcome to the site I'm sure you will find some help here. Jim
