Blazer rear hatch

Has anybody purchased one of these from a vendor. Cheyenne pickup parts has them for 385.00 an dI was wondering how good the quality is. Is anyone making new hardware for these things. My blazer doesn't have one at all and I need one. Good used ones are very hard to find. Maybe its just time to build a better mousetrap. Does anyone have any leads on any or any suggestions on a replacement. Maybe in Texas, Those things aren't light and I cant imagine how it would hold up to shipping.

I've been looking for a used replacement for quite some time. They are either too expensive or they sell out from under me. I don't know anyone that has the new replacements but I'm curious how they work. You might try asking Mothertruckers, since I know they sell them too. I don't think they have any hardware or glass. The hardware can be just as hard to find as a used hatch. Good luck and let us know what you decide to do. For $200 more you can get a soft top and not have to worry about taking the hard top on & off during the warm season...

I need one too, but I'm planning on a soft top. Any info you can get I would be interested in. One day I would like the hard top to be available for use and not rattle like crazy. Have you seen the half cab tops they are offering on ebay. About 1200, but pictures look good. Does anybody have one of these? I would like to hear about them.

There is a guy selling half cabs on Colorado K5 too. I think he is asking $900. They won't fit with a roll bar though. I like my soft top but I'd like to have the hard top for the winter time. I have a hatch, but it is pretty beat up. I might just have to put the time and effort into restoring it.

I have a plywood door that made about a year ago. It is a 1/2 thick piece that is cut out the shape of the door with the window cut out. It has the piece of glass with the gasket in it. It was a quick fix that worked pretty good. but there is no way to latch it. Right now it is just a bungee cord holding it shut. And it also leaks. Have been thinking about building one out if wood and covering it with fiberglass just haven't quite worked out the latch thing. If I come up with anything I will let everybody know. I think I will start another post about soft tops to see what kind of experience people have had with them

I like the look of the half top, but I definitly plan on running a roll bar. The plywood sounds like an improvement to my hatch. I would try to find a hatch and then restore it. My friend who is a bodyman said it could be fixed. Fiberglass isn't that tough to work with, and you do have something in its place while you do the work. However, finding one even in rough shape can be difficult. I would like to hear some responses from those who bought the reprodution ones. Have you posted on CK5?
