Re: shifter boots

If you are talking SM 465, I think all the boots are the same. Mine was still in good shape but LMC had them for my 83 C20 if needed. I only saw one boot when I took the boot off to work on the carpet + vinyl floor covering.

Re: shifter boots

the truck i got my sm465 from only had one boot, but judging bu the automatic colum shift and crude holes punched in the floor im guessing it wasnt a manual truck so im not sure if it had one before that

Re: shifter boots

Perhaps not helpful but I have several random thoughts:

a) Can't comment on the SM465 (RPO M20) boot but my MY6 overdrive boot was double (had both an inner and an outer boot).

b) I couldn't find a factory style replacement so I bought a Hurst Super Shifter replacement boot and used that.

c) My recollection is that the early M20 boots (like in the '79 - '84 timeframe) were rectangular at the base - but I could be wrong.

Re: shifter boots

I dont mean to high jack this thread but Keith where did you get such a nice vinyl floor? The rubber/ vinyl floor in my truck is toast and i cant find a good place to get one. LMC sells it but ive heard horror stories about fitting them and having to trim them. Thanks.

As for my sm465 i only had one boot. Never seen one with 2

Re: shifter boots

As for the floor mat - it's site vendor Capt Kaos.

and yes - that is the production shifter for the MY6 (also known as the Mopar A833) overdrive trans. The shifter was manufactured by Hurst; trans has a 1:1 third gear and 4th gear is .73.
