Lower belt molding ?
I done a mock up with the molding pieces I had. I am trying to find the rest. It seems tough to find reasonable priced lower belt molding. I like the way it looks..whatchaw thank?

Re: Lower belt molding ?
Looks great. How & where did you decide to place the molding, relative to the body line?

Re: Lower belt molding ?
I just lined it up with the ridge of the body. I just used sticky pads to put it on so I could see if I liked it. Now I just gotta find the other 7 more pieces.

Looks great!
I'm adding trim to a non-trim truck as well - what clips are you going to use to mount the trim, the original ones that require holes or the adhesive plastic clips? I was originally going to use the metal clips, but now I'm not sure about drilling all the holes and am thinking about just using the adhesive clips and am interested in your thoughts. Thanks.

Re: Lower belt molding ?
If I got to drill holes I might as well use small screws evenly spaced and paint over the head.

Re: Lower belt molding ?
I dont think I want to drill 300 holes in the body of my truck. That seems kind of silly with the quality of adhesive tape available these days. With proper prep, 3M tape will NEVER come loose.

Re: Lower belt molding ?
Never thought about 3m tape to hold the molding on, I was wanting to put some on my 69 but did not like the idea of drilling holes but some tape is sure alot more painless..lol

I drilled mine because a friends molding was coming off after about 6 months with quality 3m tape. He has owned a body shop for 20+ years and actually was the one who advised me to drill holes and use the factory style clips.

Re: Lower belt molding ?
I would use the factory clips. They mount behind the moulding and you cannot see them. If you use screws, you will see them (even if you paint the heads) and it will look horrible. While 3M tape holds up pretty well, it pushes the moulding out away from the body. Using factory clips will snug it up flush and it will look like it should.
