Suarebody Spider infestation!
My 82 pulled daily driver duty faithfully for the last 2 1/2 years, a couple of months ago I bought a late model Chevy to take over the daily routine so my 82 sits in the garage except for the occasional weekend cruise. Spiders have just about taken over the under carrage. Are any of you guys with trucks sitting in your garage having this problem? If so, what are yall doing to combat it? HATE FREAKING SPIDERS!

Re: Suarebody Spider infestation!
Bug bombs and a boot. Our shop has those gigantic jumping wolf spiders. I have nearly crapped my pants several times moving something and seeing a spider fly at me. I have pretty bad arachnophobia.

Re: Suarebody Spider infestation!
I talked to an exterminator about spiders once, he said there is really nothing you can o to prevent them. He said just keep knocking down the webs and they will get pissed and leave LOL

Re: Suarebody Spider infestation!
I think you should make some Si-fi movie about this. Lol. I would say just keep disturbing them and they will eventually leave.

Re: Suarebody Spider infestation!
its kinda off the wall a little bit, but if you see the webs and the spiders if you take cigarette ash and flick it in the web they will eat it and it will kill them

Re: Suarebody Spider infestation!
cigarettes kill spiders too?
hmmmm - may just try a water hose and a good nozzle to keep them knocked out and encourage em to move along! - i dont have too many issues with spiders. i buy different types of bug preventers and spray it around the house on the OUTSIDE every quarter or so- stops em at the door, I guess! good luck! |

Re: Suarebody Spider infestation!
I'm fighting wasps at the front door ,no choice had to use a raid kill spray
they make one for crawlers too.... otherwise dryer static sheets seem to help, after using a box over the winter inside ,we keep them and throw them under our trailers, all summer seems to work but these are what we see just behind it,smaller one

Re: Suarebody Spider infestation!
Geez. Black Widows are bad news. They are serious chemical warfare targets.

Re: Suarebody Spider infestation!
Black widows are a whole 'nother story JKnight! I use this stuff called Tempo SC. A local guy at the feed store recommended it to spray the inside & outside perimeter of the house / barn / shop etc... It takes care of all the pest, spiders, centipedes, wasps, ants, etc... all the annoying flying / crawling things. Its a concentrate that you have to mix in a sprayer so you can mix it a little stonger if needed on your first application. One bottle of the stuff is $40 but make 30 gallons of spray. We have an inside dog, and its also ok for pets... just let it dry first. Check it out... I HATE spiders too!

Re: Suarebody Spider infestation!
I have a regular pest control that I satrted using about 4 or 5 months ago. I bough a few cans of Terra black widow and spider killer, seems quite effective so far as they die within a couple of minutes being sprayed.

Re: Suarebody Spider infestation!
I have a couple of black widows hanging around my house right now too. I usually use starter fluid or break cleaner - without lighting it. I kills them on the spot. I just don't have any left, after my latest project. I get them around my garage and outside my house. They like to come out just after dark. It's easy for me to spot them at just about 9pm. A flash light and a new can of starter fluid, and I'm ready for battle. I hate spiders too, man.

Re: Suarebody Spider infestation!
My mustang had been stashed in the corner for nearly 30 years. When I finally got that thing out this year first thing I had to do was clean it all up, including the bottom side.
The entire underside was infested with black widows and egg sacks. I knew I had a few as I would see one every once in a great while in or around the shop. Well I found their hiding place Strangly enough they were just concentrated there and no where else in the shop so they were fairly easy to get rid of. I found that getting out the power washer and blowing off the entire bottom of the car pretty much blew those things out of there |

Re: Suarebody Spider infestation!
Had something simalier with our 75 olds regency, it was a boat car and filled the garage from nose till tail and I guess it had a preg spider on it when we parked it for the year cause we opened the side garage door and it looked string maze with millions of little dots swinging around... I went Rambo on them with a box or spider killer spray and a full body suit and a mask, looked like a Friday the 13th ninja with spray cans
