Time to order paint. Which one?

Getting ready to order paint. I am having different thoughts on flat vs gloss. I like both but I can't decide and I need some help. What do you think?

Gloss is easier to spray. Got some orange peel? No problem. You can cut and buff to perfection. With flat what you spray is what you get! Having said that, I love the satin finish on my '66.

Re: Time to order paint. Which one?

I would always go for gloss if I were spending serious money for paint. I'm very pleased with my satin finish, because it was cheap and requires no maintenance. I would have preferred gloss black urethane, but I didn't have the money for good paint and wasn't up for all the work needed to remove the lacquer already on the truck.

I think it's also easier to paint gloss paint. I've talked to a lot of guys with satin/flat trucks that had to do it several times to get the sheen to come out even over all the surfaces.

I like the way yours came out and I said why not. If I can get mine to come out like this red truck I will be happy with it. I need to order paint this week because I can't move forward until I jam and get the cab painted. I took the doors back off so I can paint. Friday I sent the bed to the blaster so it will be back next week. Thanks for your input!

I had that problem. I painted mine piece by piece over a couple of weeks. The texture differs from panel to panel to a varying degree. But it looks fine with a nice coat of lemon pledge to shine it up.
