67-72 Chev Crewcab Build 2nd Gen
First pics of new 67-72 crewcab 2nd Gen.
Many improvements made from first cab. Full 6' rockers 16 gauge cold rolled steel. Rust prevention coating during assembly and will be followed up with a secondary internal rust prevention. Door header is a 4 piece 16 gauge continous piece that will ensure the cabs rigidity. More to come and feed back is always appreciated.

Nice! Always better once you've gotten a project or two under your belt. You learn the things you like and don't like about how it all went together and how it all ends up...

is that header piece for sale on your website? By the way, your work continues to make mine look like a hack job! Keep up the quality builds!

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build 2nd Gen
Well guys I decided to make a beer centering device that could be reached from any point outside the cab, come to find out I can also use it for checking square on the cab.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build 2nd Gen
If you can't afford to buy a 10-20-30 thousand dollar hydraulic brake press you build one, right?
Will probably spend the rest of this week on this particular project.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build 2nd Gen
Brake press is finished, the only thing left is to make different dyes for each job. Now I can get back to building the crew cabs. This will make my job soooooo much easier.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build 2nd Gen
Back on track with the crewcab, been busy putting 4wd under my one ton. I cannot emphasis enough how much stronger and nicer my 2nd gen cabs will be. Not to say mine is any kind of slouch just have made a bunch of great improvements.
If you look closely the driver's door striker plate area is one of the stamped pieces that I have made from my new press. If there is any question as to how I build these things square, just look around inside the cab, all measurements are within 16th of an inch. Don't think GM did that. More pictures to follow, planning to have B pillar finish by next week. Also will be showing on my other build site upper chrome molding modification for the rear two doors tomorrow.

Congrats on finding an alternative to cutting up classic Burbs to build Crew Cabs. And a 4 door crew at that.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build 2nd Gen
Jim we have a basic price of $15,000.00 for the cab in prime with four swinging doors. Any other accommodations, such as a cummins diesel, or any other modifications that involve the cab can affect the price.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build 2nd Gen
Yeah, not real interested in taking any nice suburbans off the road. By and large the suburbans we use are usually so rotted out, and they were on the way to the crusher anyway, not going to sweated much. Besides the caterpillar is cool but the butterfly is cooler.
