Thumbs down Long fleet bed interchangeable-1960/1966

Are all 1960/1966 long fleetside beds interchangeable and correct. I've got got a 1966 long fleet and have available a 1961 long fleet I'd like to put on with little or no modifications and have it look correct for the year.

The frames are different on the 61 trucks so the bottom rails are not just plug and play, it will require some modifications.

It'll look perfectly correct for the year.
But like LT1Burb stated; the mounting to the frame will need a little modification.
The frame rails are further apart on the 60-62 than they are on the 63-66.

Re: Long fleet bed interchangeable-1960/1966

Use the cross sills (cross braces) from the '66 bed on the '61 bed and it will then fit. Just hopefully alll the bolts don't give you too much trouble.

Re: Long fleet bed interchangeable-1960/1966

It looks like gmcbigbl's question has been answered. I have a related question. Will the 60-62 cab fit without modification on the 63 frame? Are all the cab mounts in the right place? Will it look correct for the year? Thanks
