71 Long Bed, gonna be a slow one

71 Longbed, this is gonna be a project for my brother in law. We recently purchased a 68 Longbed, so this cab and 69 front clip will go onto the 68 frame. The engine in this truck will be going into our other truck, our 689 Short Step, so motivation for this truck is already in the framerails of the 68 a 350/3 Speed combo. Confused yet
Where I found it

At home

Yes I got a wheelbarrow included in the sale

Re: 71 Long Bed, gonna be a slow one

My Dad got the 71 tore down a bit, and I stripped the inside of the cab

PO Said 100K miles, looks a bit like it

This is what I started with

During and after:

Look what I found under the pass. sunvisor

And under the pass. sill plate! This truck is already making me money!

Speaking of sill plate, the screws were stripped on the driver side
Cut off wheel time!

Re: 71 Long Bed, gonna be a slow one

We got the heads off, cam out, lifters out, pistons out, and the steering column. That is bout all we did today.
Now I can't drive it! OH NO!

Numbers on the block... needs to be decoded

Does this mean double hump heads?

Re: 71 Long Bed, gonna be a slow one

I have looked up that engine code, and I am afraid I might have a 305, someone else maybe can help me out?
