Brake Light Question

I didn't even think it worked since it doesn't come on when the parking brake is engaged. This morning I noticed that my brakes were real mushy and then the light came on. I refilled the master cylinder (it has a slow leak) and the brakes feel fine again, but the light won't go off. What controls this light, how do I make it go off?

You will need to equalize the pressure between the front an rear lines.
When one of the segments gets low the switch will throw that way.
The switch is between the front and rear lines and will not return by just adding fluid, you will need to bleed the side that is not leaking so that the switch will return to the middle of the cylinder.

I ignored mine for a couple of days & it went out all by itself.

I'll toss it in the hat anyway. Several years ago I replaced my master cylinder and couldn't get the light to go out. What I *think* the mechanic did was... there's a device (proportioning valve?) on a bracket between the booster & master cyl. Brake lines to it from master cyl. & from it to brakes, and a wire (for the light). There's a button on the front of it, he pushed the button, & the light went off! Hope yours is that simple.
