Is powdercoating OK on pulley's drive surface?

Just wondering if anyone has powder coated drive pulleys-specifically the surface that the belt (s) ride on. I want to blast/coat my serpentine system and am wondering if I need to avoid the grooves. Will it just wear off or cause the belt to slip.

Thanks, Mike

I've had it done many times. Never a problem.
