Beltech drop spindles

hello,

I have beltech drop spindles on my 68 c-10 with a 71 front disc brakes. I called beltch and they advised that they do not make a drop spindle for my year truck. How different are the 71-72 spindles from the 73 and up ????????I believe the beltech drop spindles part number starts with 31 and something else. I cant remember the rest right now. I bought the spindles a few years ago, i just installed the ccp tubular upper and lower control arms. I am having steering problems and the spindles look like they dont line completly up . I did have the same spindles on the stock upper and lower control arms in the past with no problems?????? Any help would be great.

Re: Beltech drop spindles

What year balljoints are in your CPP a-arms?
71-72 spindles are different from 73-87 spindles.
(different outer tie rod and different upper ball joint)

Belltech does make a 71-72 drop spindle.
Did you tell them you needed 71-72 spindles or 68 spindles?

Beltech makes a quality spindle.
You can buy cheaper.
http://www.performanceonline.com/ sells them every day for $229.

You can now buy disc brake standard and drop spindles for the following years:
60-62
63-70
71-72
73-87

Re: Beltech drop spindles

Back to his origional question , can anybody tell the difference between the 3120 bell spindle for 71-72 , and the 3100 for 73-87 hd? The ball joints , tie rods , brakes , bearings are all the same , is there a geometry difference?

Re: Beltech drop spindles

71-72 #3120 spindle is not the same as a 73-87 #3100 spindle.

They both take the HD rotor, caliper and bearing set.
They both take the same lower balljoint.

The upper ball joint and outer tie rod is different between these two trucks.

I have 71-72 Beltech spindles and they are a 3" drop, funny thing is they bolted right in my '80 GMC van. Sorry I don't have the part number handy but I did find it when I bought them and it was listed as 71-72 1/2 ton GM truck.

Re: Beltech drop spindles

Thanks for the correction! I've been putting the 73 up tie rods and ball joints in everything new when I changeover , just didn't know 71-72 were different.

I'm not sure how that is possible or correct even if the parts bolt together.

71-72 Parts
Upper ball joint: k6124
Lower ball joint: k6117 T
Outer tie rod: es415 rl

80 GMC Van
Upper ball joint: k6136
Lower ball joint: k6117 T
Outer tie rod: es409 rl

All of these parts are easily looked up on line.

The lower ball joints are the same,... but thats it.
