new rearend

picked up a rearend out of a 80's c30 CC truck for $150 and am going to put it under my 79 3/4ton.(4in narrower than mine) now i was told everything will work just fine, but the brakes will just stop alot quicker because their made to handle duals, not singles. is this true, and will their be any other problems? thanks in advance

Re: new rearend

It probably will stop quicker. If you can get the wheel cylinders to hold up, which may be easier since you are evidently planning on a single rear wheel setup. Make sure you rebuild the drums before you put it on, it will save you a lot of work under the truck.
