The hindenburg

Not the best name for a project, we all knew what a happened to the air ship. When i found this truck i notice a gold plate on the dash calling it the Hindenburg so its the hindenburg service body and soon to be laid out gmc.I found the truck on C/L and had been sitting in a field since 2006.The truck is in amazing condition, zero rust and most important to me the interior has never been rattle canned red or black. My plans will first finsh my dually build, then start gathering parts i need and of coarse already made a call to nate. The truck has a leaf spring rear which i will flip the axle and install a decent notch but will not cut into the floor. Looks like about 8 to 9 inches drop. I will have to cut into the tool boxes over the wheels and the front will be full d/m and bagged. I'm going with stock 16" 8 luggers with caps

Re: The hindenburg

Dino,... cut that thing down to lwb status,... or maybe even a swb truck.
I think you can splice between the tool box doors and make it work.

Re: The hindenburg

You going to make this a personalized shop truck with the appliance repair graphics on it like your work trucks?

Dude, you're like the Venus Flytrap of 60-66 trucks. Nothing escapes you!

Re: The hindenburg

Employee of the month gets this as their service truck??

What's up with all the items on the fenderwells?? The coolant puke tank on the RH fenderwell, the chamber-looking thing on the LH side, the glass remnants ahead of that?? The puke tank looks factory. Was that a V-6 only item??

Re: The hindenburg

very wild utility bed... never seen one so long. that would make the perfect shop truck. compressor and welding rig in the back.... man, you'd be set.

i figure you'll get a good start on this one before the duallys finished. it's just too cool.

Re: The hindenburg

neat find, I am interested to see how the front drop works out, I have a 2wd 8 lugger that I want to drop... so after you are done I will copy you!

btw how many sets of washers and dryers will fit in the back of that? 10?

" zero rust and most important to me the interior has never been rattle canned red or black."--- best comment ever. I totally agree!
