Can someone measure this for me please?

I will be towing a 1972 gmc longbed half ton on friday with my 03 silverado. The gmc will be on a uhaul car hauler, so all four wheels will be off the ground. A little worried about the width of the front as the trailer measures 75inch wide. Can someone measure the distance of the outside edges of the front tires with stock tire and rim size on a similar truck? Thanks everyone

Re: Can someone measure this for me please?

i had the exact same issue when i picked up my truck...it didnt fit on the trailer i first took... make sure you take into account what wheels are on there, because some have a different offset making them stick out a little further out and when you are talking about an inch on each side and not much room to spare on a 75 in trailer it could be the difference in working and not

Re: Can someone measure this for me please?

I hauled my '68 a few years back halfway across country. She had 255/60R15 in the front and fit, but barely. I think they rubbed going on. The backs actually overhung the sides (275's).

I heard somewhere that they were watching who they rented to because of weight and size issues.

Re: Can someone measure this for me please?

The guy at uhaul told me as long as it has stock tires, it will fit. One of their trailers is 75 in wide, while the older one they also rent is 79 wide. I asked if I can reserve the older style trailer and he said no because since im towing a lot of weight, almost 7500 pounds that basically they will give me the lightest trailer they have which I would assume is the newer style 75 inch wide trailer...damn I got to get the right trailer to get this thing home

Re: Can someone measure this for me please?

If you had a set of the older narrower tires or could borrow some that may be an option. I have original tires and wheels on my 69 frame and can measure the width but can't get it done until late this evening.
