Anyone running 295 60 15's on the back?

I would like to put this size on the back of my truck with 10" rims, but the only one I can find that makes it is Hoosier, and it's basically a race slick. Does anyone have a picture of these on their truck, and an idea as to how they would be for the driving on the street?

Re: Anyone running 295 60 15's on the back?

I can't find anyone that makes them any more besides Hoosier. I thought BF Goodrich did, but I can't find them anywhere. I don't really want to run race tires, and 275/60 15's are a little small for 10" rims.

I dont' know that I have ever seen a 60 series 295. I ran 295/50/15 for a number of years. I also ran 275/60/15 on numerous trucks also on 10" rims.

Even the BFG 50 series 295 is getting harder to find.

Re: Anyone running 295 60 15's on the back?

Tires are specified in the form 225/50R16. The first number is the width of the tire (section), the second number is the aspect ratio (profile), and the third number is the wheel diameter (rim size). The delimiter characters are not important. Specifications containing speed ratings are handled correctly, as well as TRX wheel sizes.

Re: Anyone running 295 60 15's on the back?

I've got 245 60 15's on the front, and the 295 50 15 is actually not as tall as the front tires are, that's why I have to run the 295 60 15.

Same width... 50 series is a lower profile (shorter sidewall) than a 60 series.

Re: Anyone running 295 60 15's on the back?

some companies still use standard measurements on their tires...

you can use on of the online tire size converters to figure out that a 295/60/15 metric size is equivalent to 28.9x11.6/15 standard. Mickey Thompson has a few tires around that size, like the Sportsman Pro series. That particular tire is offered in a 28X12.50-15LT and a 29X12.50-15LT, both sizes are recommended for an 8 to 11 inch wheel, and both are fairly equivalent to the size tire that you would like...

just a thought.

Re: Anyone running 295 60 15's on the back?

I had the same problem earlier in the year trying to find 295/60/15s.I ended up going with BFG 235/70/15 front and 275/60/15 rear on 8" rims. Both are right @ 28" tall.
