Exhaust routing w/porterbuilt Rear crossmember

Thanks for the help guys but what I would really like to see is the exhaust going through rear crossmember.

I guess running the exhaust outside the frame would help getting past the trans crossmember. Mine is right in the middle of the frame.

Perhaps you can be more specific? N2Billet posted pics of his @ the rear x-member (the one directly above the rear end). Are you talking about the x-member that's @ the very end of the frame rails or where?

This would be the center/truck arm x-member correct? It's not what I (& the others posting pics apparently) would consider the rear x-member thus the confusion....

Not sure if you are still active on here... but I'm curious as to what you are using to attach the exhaust to the rear notch and where I might get my hands on something similar - things are tight where the exhaust comes through the trailing arms cross members and I was curious if what you did back here would work in that area to "secure" things... any insight would be much appreciated - big fan of your approach here and given I have a stepside it's about the only route I can see working for my setup.

Jegs sells them as well as Jegs branded product with red snapper grommits, if you are crafty you could make your own like I did.

3" pipes, had to mash them down a little in my vice to get them through. VERY tight fit. They'll turn out in front of the rear tires once I get the bed back on. No room at all the run them out the back with the long panhard bar and fuel tank in the way.

If you're asking about mine, its REAL loud. The truck almost sounds like it belongs on a NASCAR starting grid but there is a real obnoxious drone in the cab at certain RPMS (yep, the exhaust is mounted correctly with rubber isolators). My wife doesn't even bother trying to talk to me when we're driving (which of course may be a plus to some). If I am by myself I'll use my ipod with earbuds and it really helps.

Steve Cole was behind me last weekend at a light and he said the racket from my truck was making his vibrate.

I knew that going in though- I figure when I get tired of the noise, I'll just run the tailpipes out further back. Fun for now though.

The funny part is, if you look the last couple pictures posted in my build thread, the engine (at first glance), looks stock. The only obvious giveaway is the headers.

When I roll into a cruise night, they are all confused over how the truck sounds vs how it looks. Then when I pop the hood and they all work their way over to see where all that noise is coming from, it looks stock. Its a lot of fun.
