idle screw on q-jet?

so my c30 has a 454 with a q-jet carb is there a way i can adjust the idle? it has a bigger cam but doesnt sound like it idling. it i want it to be more loopy. can i slow my idle down? i heard you can adjust your idles on these carbs is that true? any help apperciated thanks

just back out the screew on the throttle linkage and that should do it

yes it is. it is right where the cable goes to the carb. also i dont know what cam you have but after a point they need more rpm to idle. one i had any less the 1000 it would fade out and stall

Umm, what rpm is it idling at now? Is the truck manual or auto? Either way, your idle should be no less than about 650-750. If you're around that rpm and it still doesn't sound lumpy then the cam you have is not that aggressive. That "lumpy" sound comes from valve overlap.

its auto. when its cold its at like 1k when it warms up its at like 5-600
