14 bolt tear down

I finally found me a good 14 bolt full floater to install in my 70 4x4. I want to go thru the brakes and also install new wheel cylinders before putting it in my truck. I have the axles out but I can't get the spindle nuts off, I have the special socket with the 6 tangs but it won't budge even with an impact or a breaker bar and pipe. Don't know if I've overlooked something or what?

There is a lock washer with tabs that you have to bend up out of the way. Take some brake cleaner to get the grease out of the way so you can see the tabs. Once you get those tabs out of the way, the nut will unscrew. Good Luck. Let us know if you need anything else.

Re: 14 bolt tear down

Got it now! I couldn't see the key last night and I was figuring there were 2 nuts holding the hub on but guess there's just the one spindle nut.
