Re: Who can help me by ordering the correct parts???

Can you give us a lil info whith what motor your running? And do you know if your motor has low compression, If not you will probrolly have to look into lower compression pistons And you might have to get a supercharger carb too. But idk with prochargers, assuming it isnt a roots style blower. Maybe a member whos running a supercharger can help out a lil here. I just know a little about them..

I'm doing a 383 Stroker build with dished pistons to bring it down to 9 to 1 compression, I'm using a votech supercharger which is centrifugal and I'm using a Quickfuel 750 with a blow by for boost.

I'm not sure but i think when you are looking at buying a carb for forced induction, you have to let them know what application it being used for and have them ad the blow through for boost. So if that is the case Your 600 carb would work with modification(ie : with the blowthrough added), but since your adding boost which in turn you may need to add more air and fuel as well, So you may need a bigger carb.

I'm still learning so I could be wrong, maybe others will chime in.

Re: Who can help me by ordering the correct parts???

That sounds logically that i need a bigger carb!

I think a 700er can do good work!?

I was just irritated as BlackedOut67shorty wrote that i need a "supercarger carb"!

Ive never seen a supercharger carb at summit or somewhere else!

I said you might need one.. Didnt mean to irritate you but these were what i was talking about http://www.summitracing.com/search/P...b&autoview=SKU. You can make othercarbs work, just need fine tuning and blowthrough added.

Re: Who can help me by ordering the correct parts???

I think you should be good with abigger carb, compression seems to be good for that blower. Idk if the pistons should be forged but i think you should be good though. If it was a bigger blower id say forging would be a must. Maybe someone can chime in seeing if my info is correct

Like Blackedout said, forged bottom end wouldn't be a bad idea depending how much boost you plan to push through the motor.

Im only starting with 6psi on the 383, but I am going forged because I plan on adding an intercooler, bov, pulley, ect later to turn up the boost down the line.

It's better to be safe, than sorry. Trust me, I found out the hard way on my stock 2009 LS motor on 10psi that is now sitting blown in my 2011 Silvy. You live and you learn, next up Forged 408 Stroker with more boost.

Re: Who can help me by ordering the correct parts???

Depending on fitment you may have to change up your radiator inlet or outlet, also I think your belt (serpentine or V) it may make a difference? May have to go to Efan's if clutch fan is in the way? Also may need to upgrade fuel system, all are possible issues.

I am building mine a couple pieces at a time, once I get it together and dropped in I will see what needs to be changed for figment of the blower. Like I said, I'm no expert, just interested in learning and soaking up knowledge when I can, hope some of this may help.

Re: Who can help me by ordering the correct parts???

IMO German doesn't need a blow-thru carb. like you would with a Vortec because the Roots blower sits under the carb. and the carb is pretty much metered by atmospheric pressure.
With the Vortec blowers the boosted air (5-10 PSI) blows into the top and thru the carb. and needs completely different type metering requirements.
Also Summit has some pretty descent tech guys that you can bounce questions off of.

Have you spoken with Summit? I believe they are very good with customer/tech support and would guide you down the correct path to assemble a proper combination and take out any guess work.
