Broken Bumper Guard Bolt. Help Please

Got to go to the salvage yard again today, only my second time . Love that place.

Anyway, out of probably 50-60 trucks between many yards there was only one set of those push bumper guards. So I snagged them, but I ended up shearing off one of the bolts on the guard. The thing is welded onto a plate on the back of the guard so I am wondering what can I do to fix this?

LMC sells the repro's for like 150$ and I couldn't find any others so this is what I have to work with. Has this happened to anyone else?

Any idea's on what to do to be able to use these are appreciated.

Thanks!
Michael

or cut the plate off and weld on a new one with a new bolt if you're worried about messing up the threads

Re: Broken Bumper Guard Bolt. Help Please

I have a MIG but I have no idea how to use it, plan on learning with some friends in a couple of months but how much would getting someone to weld a threaded rod on it cost?

Re: Broken Bumper Guard Bolt. Help Please

if you supply the rod/bolt and clean the weld area, I would hope that a shop would weld it on for free (or next to it) It's a 10 second job with a wire feeder.
