67-72 Truck Calendar Nominations
EDIT: we have over 50 trucks for a 12 truck calendar, so I am closing nominations.
Over the last year, I published a few calendars featuring quite a few years and body styles on here and someone mentioned we didn't do an exclusive one for 67-72 TRUCK guys/gals, SO here we go. I would like this theme to be "67-72 Chevy/GMC trucks" (no Blazers or Burbs) Since there are THOUSANDS of trucks on here. Please only nominate the "best of the best". NOTE: If we get enough nominations, I may split this into separate 2wd and 4wd calendars NOW... before you start uploading your photos, please read through the rest of this post. It seems that we always get one or two nominations that havent read the criteria. -Trucks must be finished and licensed for street use -If you want to nominate another board member: They must be an active forum member (who I can get in touch with). -Photos have to be ones YOU took. No professionally photography (because they typically have their photos protected) -Photos need to be "calendar quality" - Get creative with your background, an old barn, a lake or a field. A background with your ratty Geo or your buddy standing at the door holding a beer can isn't going to work. -Make sure it is uncropped. Photos that are too "rectangular" will not work. Here is what I need for the pictures… -You must have the original picture available to email me once the nominations are done. -Pictures you took with your cell phone often have low resolution. Sometimes, I can make these work, but these NEED to be quality digital shots (for example, my iphone will take some photos that are 2 mb large... I can make these work) -No photos that you scanned from 1983 -Preferably the complete truck centered in the photo- don’t let the bumpers get cut off in the photos (common problem apparently). I had a couple of these on a couple of the other calendars. This not only makes the truck look bad in the photo, it makes my cropping skills look bad -More than likely, it needs to be outside, with good lighting. A picture you shot 5 minutes ago in your garage probably won’t cut it. UNLESS you have a really big (and well lit) garage with room to get the full truck into it. Haha. -A straight on nose shot or even a rear facing shot would work too… as long as it is cool looking and the lighting is good. -I’d say it needs to be visibly complete (or at least presentable and drivable) I know, they are never complete. -IF it is an artistic "calendar" quality shot, it could get added too. (see the cover on the Classic Chevy Truck calendar) I think if the theme is right, a very small portion of the truck could be "calendar worthy" for a cover shot. -And -no people in the shots. Maybe next year... of course, many guys will vote for a "Chicks on trucks" theme. haha. If you have a really good picture of a smoking hot girl adorning the hood of your truck, I will gladly review it and make a decision. -just kidding-I will review it , but it still won't make the cut. -You need to be the current owner of the truck. Otherwise, nominate the new owner (if he/she is a board member) It wouldn't be cool to nominate yourself if you sold your truck last year. Link to one of the latest calendar's... http://www.lulu.com/shop/jeff-goddar...-20066288.html Post the BEST pictures (2-3 if you have them) you have of it. After receiving all of the photos, I will post a poll for forum members to vote on the calendar trucks. This should be around October 1st. The Calendars will be available to purchase in Late October (in time for Christmas!) The maximum amount of contestants we can have for a poll is 30, so that will be the cut off point -unless we dont get to it in a timely fashion. But, there is typically one or two that will not meet the requirements, so nominate even if there is already 30. You can nominate more than one. AND... they can be located anywhere (not just in the USA -in fact I think an overseas addition would be cool) If you want to PURCHASE one, you will be able to do so. I will be publishing it on the lulu.com website. It will be a 12 month calendar and the price will be around $17.00 for a regular size and 27.00 for the large size. The standard size is 11"x17", and the larger size is 13.5"x19". I will also need: -the owners name (how they want it shown on the calendar- first name only, or first and last name) -their city, state -the details on the truck (example: 1967 Chevrolet C10 Stepside) IMPORTANT: Make sure you subscribe to this thread if you are nominated. I will post updates on here after the poll is over. If you do not get me the info/photos after the poll is over, I will move on to the next highest poll finisher. These calendar's require a lot of effort and I appreciate your timely response to updates/info requests. I would prefer not to have to chase you down via PM for info. I may just request the info from the next highest finisher. Thanks to all

Re: 67-72 Truck Calendar Nominations
Cool idea, I wish I had a nice truck for this. I was thinking of trying to make my own calendar this year, but I might buy one of yours instead.

Re: 67-72 Truck Calendar Nominations
These calenders turn out awesome. I got the 60-66 one Jeff put together, and was genuinely surprised by the quality when I opened the box. I would suggest ordering the larger style if possible. I ordered one of each, and the larger one is much better!
Have fun guys!! |

Re: 67-72 Truck Calendar Nominations
Don't really expect to make it in, way nicer trucks here than mine, but I'll throw in some photos anyway. Even if it just gives someone an idea of how they want to take a pic of their truck.
The pics of the skyline were done with a droid, the ones with the barn were taken with a handycam. I have photoshop, but all of these were done at work today on photobucket Lots of good photo ops out there you just need to keep your eye open. EDIT: Just looked at this on my phone instead of the crappy laptop screen and I may have saturated some of the pics a bit too much...

Re: 67-72 Truck Calendar Nominations
Here is the best picture I have of my truck right now. I currently have the front apart and am installing a 1987 front suspension and disk brakes on it. I am also rebuilding a 327 and a 700R4 transmission for it as well. Glad to join this forum, seems to be a great bunch of people here.

Can I nominate 2 of mine facing each other, or only 1 truck of your choice if you prefer.

Re: 67-72 Truck Calendar Nominations
Man, I am just shaking my head in amazement at these trucks. This poll is gonna be TOUGH. It isn't going to be about who has the nicest trucks (THEY'RE ALL AWESOME!) It's gonna come down to the photo itself. I like this kind of competition level!
I guess I didnt think about the fact that there may be a couple guys who have MULTIPLE showstoppers. Gumby is one of my all time favorites on the board, and even inspired the design theme for my "Red Sled" Blazer. I actually think the 2 truck shot would make a SWEET calendar cover. I may play with it some in the photo editor and see if I can make it work. If it works, then I would request we only run one of your trucks in the poll. But, if not, I have no problem with you nominating both of your trucks. But, since I have never encountered this in any of the previous calendar's, I am open to PM's from anyone who has an opinion.
