69 chevy frame question

Not sure what benefit you would gain? You'll find "most" guys on here prefer the trailing arm suspension as opposed to the leaf.

GMC trucks of the same year and size "usually" had/have leaf springs. Finding the whole axle, springs and hangers off one of those and swapping it all out would be fairly simple.

I always figured it all depended on what you wanted to do with your truck. The guys on here that lower their truck tend to prefer the trailing arm suspension but the guys who want to tow or haul often go for the leaf springs.

I've got both -68 GMC with leaf springs and 69 Chevy with trailing arms. I only noticed a slight difference in comfort level with the coil springs being smoother. But, as mentioned, if you want to do some heavy hauling leaf springs are better and it's easier to add one or two if you need to.

I should add that my GMC came with 8 leaf springs because it was a ranchers truck and he hauled feed for his cattle with it. I removed the three stiffer lower ones for more comfort since I don't do any heavy hauling.
