3/4T Longhorn power steering line... who has 'em?

I ordered the pressure-side power steering line for my '70 402 Longhorn from LMC, but it's a completely different shape than my original (as in there's no way to use it).

I cleaned up the old one for now, but it's got a wear spot where it must have rubbed it's whole life, right down to the webbing, so it's not long for this world.

If I went to a hyrdaulics shop I'm sure they could make one, but it'd look nothing like stock, and I'd like it to match.

Anyone know where I can find one? A picture of my cleaned up original is below.

Thanks,
Dave

board vendor pickmup (frank) is the only person who has had these correctly reproduced. he is also located in your state. you will not find the correct one in any parts store anywhere, as they are no longer produced.

If it is only the hose, how about having the hose replaced reusing you original ends?

Check around your area for an industrial hose supplier, shops like this cater to industrial fork lift/big rig maintenance. So they make hydraulic hose set ups, and fuel rated hose for the tanker trucks.

They typically custom make anything you bring to them.

I had all of my brake hoses made at a shop like that, they reused the fittings and made the hose longer than stock. Since my burb has been lifted, the OE type hoses were too short. They matched exactly what the OE hose looked like to.

Afterwards I had brake lines that still looked 1968 OE, instead of having to go with modern braided style off road brake lines.

Re: 3/4T Longhorn power steering line... who has 'em?

I bought mine about a year ago on eBay for $6.00. Here's a link to the manufacturer.

http://www.plews-edelmann.com/pressure-hoses/

The current part number is 70917 or 71065. The length sounds a bit long though. I suspect that mine may be old stock. I think I still have the box mine came in. If you can wait about a week, I'll check the number on the box and post it here. These are also on Rock Auto's website for male or female pressure ports.

Here is a pic of it installed.

The picture they show for 70917 is quite a bit different. Unless its a generic photo, note how short the pump-side end is on mine, just about 2 inches.

That is a small block power steering hose. They work, but they are different.

Guess I missed that big block part! Duhhhh...

I see Rock Auto also has them for big blocks. Do any of those pictures look right?

Just about every parts store will say they have them...but they are always the wrong one. This subject has come up before in the past, and the only correctly reproduced ones are the ones Pickmup sells. If you have an OEM, you can take it to a hose shop and have them make you up a new one as described above.
