Painting a 72 door panel
I purchased a new arm rest and took it to Home Depot to match the color.
I bought a quart of BAER premium exterior enamel, primer & paint combined. I cleaned the door with dish soap and water and applied two coats with a sponge brush. Will see how well it lasts.

Looks nice. It may hold up just fine. But,if on down the road you find it peeling,flaking,or chipping there are products made called bond enhancers for painting on plastics. Also,auto paint suppliers can mix any color you want in a dye made specifically for interior plastics and vinyls.

they look good, but enamel will chip and peel eventually. lacquer works best.
