truck vs car motor mounts
hey guys im in need of some info. I want to put solid motor mounts in my 85 c10. Ive already installed a set of them in my camaro and when i ordered them they just say for small block chevy. Is there any difference between a car sbc mount vs a truck sbc mount. 1985 c10 350 sbc. thanks guys!

Re: truck vs car motor mounts
i bought a set when i had my el camino and never put them in but i put them in my 87 when i put the 383 stroker in it
all i had to do was oval the holes in the engine cradle a bit so the 2 frame side mounts would drop down closer togeather ... when i put one bolt in and lined up the other mount it was about an 1/8 inch off, other then that the g body solid mounts work the trans mount fits too

Re: truck vs car motor mounts
If you run solid engine mounts then the trans mount has to be poly urethane or rubber, if not, you will start cracking things.

Re: truck vs car motor mounts
I bought some "universal" SBC engine brackets of Summit, and they were narrower and shorter. I'm guessing they were car brackets. Didn't come close to fitting on the stock motor mounts. Had to go hunt some down at the salvage yards.

Re: truck vs car motor mounts
yes i run a solid trans mount it cost me a bell housing to figure that out.
its a big debate on what you should run i have no problems with all solid some will say only put solid on the drivers side and others will say just the engine and others will say all solid
