Speaker placement question

Quick question guys.

I want to install a couple of 6.5" speakers in my doors.

Where should i put them?

Im thinking, when looking at door from the inside of the cab that the bottom right on drivers door, and bottom left of passanger door. So the bottom front most posistion on both doors.

Will this interfear with the manual window mechanism inside the doors?

If so where should i put them?

Re: Speaker placement question

I wouldn't cut the doors for speakers, they aren't water tight and it looks horrible in my opinion.

I sell cab corner 6x9 brackets, see my signature if you want to know more.

I was going to use marine speaker so water shouldnt be an issue.

And with a reg cab only i want to keep behind the seat for storage only.

Re: Speaker placement question

My truck was already cut for speakers in doors but recently replaced them and bought bigblocks rear 6x9's for rear, truck has agreat sound. Mine are towards the lower front of the door.

Not the greatest pics but all I have right now but it shows location and there is no interference with anything

Re: Speaker placement question

Those brakets do look good, only thing im worried about is i have a 3 ton farm jack behind the seat and go wheeling alot, and could see it sliding sideays when i get the truck flexed out and punching a hole into one of the speakers. Guess i could make a protective grill/cover for the speakers.

Re: Speaker placement question

I also would agree with Jeff, the way I see it the amount of slamming I do on the doors couldn't help the speaker much. But that's just my opinion.

Re: Speaker placement question

If you want speakers up that way, why not put them in the kickpanels?

Re: Speaker placement question

I'd put em in the kick panels. You lose most of the highs with the 6x9s firing into the side of the seat like that but if you arent going to run a sub thats the next best thing to get some bass.
I'll probably get flamed for this but I cut 6.5s into my kick panels and used baffles to keep them dry. My truck is a manual and I have big feet so I need all the room I can get down. The pods take up too much real estate down there for me.
