73-87 Xmember

hey guys need a little help here i was wondering if anybody here knows if a 73-87 C30 front stock Xmember is the same or made of the same thickness metal as of a 73-87 c10 i hear some people before said that the lower control arms are different but im not sure on the Xmember any info will be greatly apreciated thanks

I believe the crossmember is the same.
The C20/C30 lower a-arm has a larger ball joint hole compared to the C10 lower a-arm.

ok cool thanks for the response bro..... so the mounting bolts on xmember is all the same on c10 and c30?

Should be.
I have never done this myself.
But alot of the 1/2-ton crew cab guys have.

Any reason you want to remove the crossmember?
I would just swap everything from the a-arms out.
(and the steering)

What is your plan here?
What are you trying to accomplish?

i currently have a sectioned c10 Xmember and i want to put it on my C30 dually all im gonna swap is the xmember im gonna use the same lower and upper arms but i hate to take it all apart and find out is different and it wont fit so i thought i ask some of you guys and see if get some info i appreciate your input bro.

I am pretty sure the crossmember Scoti put in his dually was a C10 crossmember. It bolted right in for the most part. There are a few holes you will have to drill from the sectioning process.

Member SCOTI is doing that exact swap now.
(I believe his is already installed)
