NEW gas tank sending unit

This is a Spectra Premium FG05J sending unit for a DRIVERS SIDE tank. It is the 2 port version with a 3/8 fuel supply tube and 5/16 vent tube. I bought it for my truck a couple years ago, but my plans for the gas tank have changed and I don't need it anymore. It is brand new and has just sat in the box all this time. Also includes an extra lock ring and gasket.

As far as applications go, the parts book says this fits 1973 to 1979 trucks that take a 2 port sending unit. This is for trucks that do not have a charcoal canister, or if you are getting rid of your emissions equipment and want the correct sending unit for that.

I am not sure if this one will work in a 1980+ tank. Theoretically it would work if the mounting hole, gasket, lock ring, and the tank depth are the same as the older tanks but I do not know if GM changed this over the years and I don't have access to a later tank to try it in.

EDIT: According to Michael as he's posted below and has actually done the swap, this sending unit will work in the later fuel tanks up to 1986. They must not spec these for later trucks because they all came with at least 3 ports and emissions hoses.

$45 shipped.

EDIT: New price $40 shipped.

Re: NEW gas tank sending unit

It will fit the newer ones. I put one in an 84 tank when I swapped it out on my 77. The only differences are for 87 (since it has the electric pump) and the outlets/inlets.
