dash speaker question

Will a set of 5x7" componet speakers fit in the dash?

Re: dash speaker question

Does your Blazer have speaker slots on the top of the dash? Most were solid. I do not believe that one, let alone two speakers will fit up there as there is not a lot of room. The original radio speaker for a Blazer hung at an angle under the dash. The single original speaker is shallow and has a small magnet. You can buy some kick panels that have 6" round speakers in them (or add your own). They also have a replacement in dash speaker for the truck dash (or your Blazer dash if it was one of the few built with truck dashes) with grill slots that has twin 3.5" speakers in its frame so it could be hooked to a stereo. Tiny speakers though with little to no separation though.

Re: dash speaker question

Some blazers had the center dash speaker, I cut this one out of a 71 blazer.

Re: dash speaker question

I was thinking of using a mesh screen on the dash and mount the speakers under the surface so they have enough room.

Re: dash speaker question

For the '69 short bed I have, I am planning on mounting a pair of 4" speakers side by side under the dash. I think that will work, but not the larger speakers.
