Chevrolet Built to Stay Tough License Plate (Very hard to find)
This is and authentic GM truck take off license plate. They way to tell the authentic GM from an aftermarket is the small oval mounting holes. I have seen very few if any of these trucks tags. Chevrolet "Built To Stay Tough Chevy Trucks" License Plate. Condition--Used--has marks on the top right screw hole. These were used on showroom and display vehicles $45.00 shipped.

I do not know what answer you are after but I will try and help. I have had a bunch of these tags over the years and yours is original GM and you can tell from the small oval holes apposed to the aftermarket tags that have the elongated holes. It is hard to tell why my tag has the double bowtie sign and yours does not. It is easy to track the years of the OE USA-1 tags because the muscle car was the hit for GM and trucks was suppose to be a work vehicle so to speak. I guess what I am saying is it is hard to track the years of the truck tags and if they are made of aluminum as yours is the I would say it is safe to say that it is mid to late 80's-90's era. Now if you had a steel small oval hole Chevy truck tag in vgc. then you would be looking at some serious $. Your tag is still in the $30-$50 ish range depending on cond.
