16.5 was on the 1970 model.
There are other wheels that will fit the stud pattern, but the thing to be aware about is the stud size in 1970 is different than what is used today.

Vectorit, did you just stick with 16.5's ? Or did you make the switch to 16's ?

Re: Were 16.5 rims factory on 70 3/4 ton burbs ?
I am currently running 16.5's but I do have a set of 16's waiting to go on.
The tires on my 16.5's are BFG A/T's with lots of meat on them, but the problem with that is that they are not perfect. Over the years they have become bent in one direction or the other, so I can't balance them with out putting a bunch of wheel weights on. But, being that the burb is long and heavy, I never notice this issue with the wheels. I plan to eventually change to a more narrow tire on the 16's, and by that time I should be planning to take some road trips. To which I will feel better about doing with a wheel that can be fitted with most any brand tire while stuck someplace other than home.

Where are you at it Tx 57Napco?
I'm still running 16.5's and I'm about to switch over to 16.5 dually wheels on my 78. I'm gonna go with 37" hummer tires on everything.

Re: Were 16.5 rims factory on 70 3/4 ton burbs ?
The 8-lug pattern was standardized between all truck brands (6.5" pattern) until good ole Ford decided to mess things up by going to 170mm in '96 or so. A few years ago GM followed suite and I'm pretty sure Dodge did, too. One day an engineering whiz wakes up and decides to change what's been a standard for decades (like ever since the 8-lug pattern came out!) just for the sake of change, with no benefit or improvement resulting what so ever.
