One of those days!!!

Well been on the bike all summer to save some gas kinda nice to only spend 12 bucks every 2 weeks on gas but now its time to break the truck out for winter duty getting cold in the morning I might be able to make it to mid October on the bike but need a back up just in case. My battery had a dead cell would start when its warm outside lucky for me it only takes a few spins to get the truck fired up only a few times this summer i had to jump it or push start the truck. So the list for today new battery installed and cranks over great, new wiper blades and finally an oil change a full oil change and lube. Ive noticed some oil leaking thought it may have been the rear main seal. after changing the oil I noticed it was not a low leak but higher sure enough the adapter for the oil sender was loose good and bad good cause its a free fix bad cause BBC oil senders suck to get to!!! I figured I would yank the dizzy out make it a littler easyer to get to. Well 30 min latter and several burns had it all back in and fired up no leaks. well after going for a spin around the block figured all was well so parked the truck and on the ground a line of oil and a huge puddle the crappy line split... yup one of those days

yeah its not to bad just need to add a quart of oil and replace the line now. I can't believe how much batteries went up in price since the last one I got. paid nearly a 100 bucks for a one year battery last time I got a 5 year for about 20 less then this one oh well if this lasts 12 years like the old one can't say to much

Re: One of those days!!!

Me too man... Had a flat last night so i had my girlfriend take me to my truck this morning to air it up. (it just got low they were old tires) I have a new set of tires for the back that i hadn't put on yet so i figure not that big of a deal i'll just swap them when i get home. As im filling up the tire i notice brake fluid down it. Again, I figure not a big deal probably just have a leaky wheel cylinder not that expensive/hard to replace. So, i get the truck on jack stands and get the wheels and drums off, only to find out my brake shoes are GONE like just wore way down... I guess it's staying on the jack stands tonight and will replace everything tomorrow....

Yep, I've noticed the price of batteries jump in the last year for some reason. Used to get those 7 year ACdelco's for about $80. I bought one a few months ago and it was nearly $130.

I'm like you though, I keep getting 11-12 years out of them so I can't complain. I've still got an old "green eye" ACdelco in one of the cars, they haven't made that battery in about 10 years and it's still kickin fine, The green eye disappeared at about year #6
