H2 Wheels - don't clear my axle hubs - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

So when I first picked up my H2 wheels I tried them on the front to make sure they fit, which they did. And today I tried to put them on the rear, which I should have done in the first place!

As you can guess by now, the center caps don't clear the rear Dana60 hubs (though the wheel itself fits nicely).

I looked on eBay and did see one grimy old GMC Dually center cap (for $50!) and I'm wondering if anyone knows if that's what fits, and if its what I need.

Just FYI, the cap pictured it the taller, dually one I'm thinking I might need (part number 15053705 I think), not the shallower ones I already have.

Someone asked about backspacing, and this is the easiest place to add a photo. Note that I don't know where they "officially" measure backspacing to, so this is from the flange to the outside edge of the wheel. Looks like 5 3/4".

Yeah, I believe dually caps fit the rear

I can say that they do - I had dually caps and the H2 rims for a bit - moved them on since I sold the project.

Hopefully somebody will chime in with part numbers for you...I think the 97+ up dually caps work (there is brushed and chrome options to choose from).

Most people Luke to space out the rears about an inch to help fill up the wheel wells. If you want to do that the caps you have know may clear.

This is what I suggest. The problem is modern wheels have too much back space for these trucks. Use spaces (I'd do front and rear) to compensate and center cap clearance is a non-issue. Personally,I prefer the 88-98 style centers for being smooth and cleaner looking.

Spacers defeat one of the reasons I want to change to a factory wheel. My aftermarket slotted aluminum wheels are lug-centric and I have not seen spacers that retain the hub-centric feature.

I used to have 90s Dodge rims on my truck and that was one thing I couldn't stand. I think they are only 6.5 inches wide and they set too far in for my liking.

I had them on my truck, I painted the FF hubs silver. They look stud...

Be sure to get the right lugs (conicle seat) from Chevy. The other ones came loose !
