1958 Suburban engine color

Hello, Engine is being pulled for some work. I would like to clean up and paint what I can when the engine is out. Is there a place I can find what color things should be? It is an inline 235. Appears to be original. Will try to figure out how I can post pics with this IPad. Thank you. Joe

Re: 1958 Suburban engine color

Divine, thanks for the pic. I have not been able to get online in a while. Turns out the engine will need complete overhaul. I decided to overhaul and keep the 6 for now. I will be asking for any suggestions on this and a future post about any other things I should probably take care of while engine and tranny are out. Cleaning, paint, motor mounts, wires, etc.

Thanks again
Joe

Not the greatest pictures but they are factory shots.

Re: 1958 Suburban engine color

When I rebuilt the 235 engine in my 59 back in 1996 I painted it Chevrolet Blue, but after some research on stovebolt.com I ended up painting the engine grey when the body was painted.

The car 235's are blue, the truck ones are gray.
