Soft springs/hard bar

Working on my 64. I am thinking I want to keep a "truck" look, so I am thinking of dropping the rear about 1" (using blocks) and the front about 2" (using springs). Looking at the truck, I think this will fix the slightly "too large" space above the tires, and level it a bit, but not make it looked at all slammed.

Anyway, someone who drove my truck commented on how well it handled (given it is an old truck) and given that it has no stabilizer bars. That person suggested putting softer springs on the truck (to improve the ride) and front (or front and rear) bars to maintain the handling. I think now it doesn't lean because the springs are new (installed by the previous owner) and stiff.

Two questions. One, is anyone aware of anywhere to order softer (lower rate) springs for our trucks? Two, any thoughts on the idea?

Thanks.
