The 75 rebuild
i have a 75 chevy 1/2 ton 2wd with a 454/400 tranny. My granddad gave me the truck when i was 13 for my first truck. he had bought it brand new and was his pride. my dad and i worked on it for 3 years till i got my licence. by the time i graduated we had it fully restored. well married my high school sweet heart and got a house and didnt have to much time for the truck or the money. so it sat at my dads for a few years. well finally got to my dads to pick up the truck and found mice beat me to it. so it took about another year to get the time and money to re-wire it. well not to long after i got that was done i lost my granddad and decided im going to re-restore the truck in his honor. Here are a few pics the day I got it home
A few weeks ago I got the front taken apart so I could get it cleaned up a little. It's amazing what a little paint does. For now I'm going to give it a rattle can bath till I get panels replaced and body smoothed out. Here is what it looks like today still have to mask off and finish spraying. Here it is for now thanks for looking. I'll keep everyone updated on my progress! Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: The 75 rebuild
Had some free time after work so I pulled the hood and sprayed it. I'll get pics of it tomorrow when it's back on the truck. I'm getting my Christmas list together im thing about dropping the truck. I don't want to go to low just a nice look. Where I live I still need some ground clearance, I also haul with it time to time. I'm thinking a 2-3 drop. What do you guys think? Thanks for the input.

Re: The 75 rebuild
Had some spare time while I was grilling so I got a few things done. Hopefully I can finish getting it sprayed this weekend. I have to put u-joints in the 76 because it's going to my daily for a few weeks while my dad is getting his car fixed. That's fine I'd rather drive one of the squares. :-)> Here is a couple pics of what I got done. Enjoy

Re: The 75 rebuild
Little update: instead of driving the 76 I figured I would stimulate the economy and drive the 75 with the 454 for a few days, it was fun but it started acting up last night, pulled a few plugs and the #5 plug was fouled. Did some more investigating and it turns out the dizzy cap has a bunch of carbon so it's time for a mini tune up this weekend. I go on call today for two weeks so I can get the truck masked up and finish spraying it too. I'll snap a few pics this week and put them up.

Re: The 75 rebuild
The wind has been nasty here so I haven't been able to finish painting the truck. This afternoon I went to town and got the stuff to do the tune up and also did a seafoam treatment and its like a new truck lol. The old dizzy cap and rotor were carbon end up pretty fierce. The nice thing I was able to get a MSD cap and rotor cheaper than the autozone brand. Hopefully it will be calmer next weekend and I can finish spraying the truck!
