bagged rear axle help
i am restoring a 67 c10 and i am putting baggs on it. This is my first ever bagged truck. So far its coming along really well. without the baggs installed and the frame layed out my headers are 1/4 inch from the ground. where I am having trouble is the rear end. The truck has the normal 2 link arms where the stock coil springs were(thats where i am mounting the bags) i have a 12 bolt chevy rear end that i swapped out. My question is this, i see all these trucks that have a wish bone. Do i have to install one of these? also the stock rear end had like a track bar that only went from the diff to one side of the frame. this 12 bolt does not. do i need to fab something to make up for this difference.
that being said im not looking to do anything crazy with my set up, meaning all the motion i want in my truck is front/back/ and layed out. CAN YALL HELP? |

Re: bagged rear axle help
When bagging these truck, it is a good idea to go with an adjustable trac-bar to help center the rear end from the new ride height. A longer bar also helps with less left-to-right movement as the suspension travels.
Porterbuilt makes one that is adjustable, and goes from the frame to the opposite side trailing arms. http://www.azproperformance.com/63-7...c-Bar-Kit.html |

Re: bagged rear axle help
You are going to have to add the track bar to the truck. It is want centers the rearend in the truck and keeps it there. The Porterbuilt bar is as nice as you will find.

Re: bagged rear axle help
Nope the track bar is all you need with the stock trailing arms.

Re: bagged rear axle help
If you are on factory trailing arms,... the adjustable track bar from Porterbuilt is all you need.
Are you using drop coil springs and drop shocks also?

Re: bagged rear axle help
You'll definitely want to relocate the shocks back there as they'll be laying pretty flat in the stock location. If you have some fab skills, there's a good write up on how to do it.

Re: bagged rear axle help
I'm running the Porterbuilt track bar, centers the rear end, 12 bolt truck, and looks nice at that. I currently have the header at the ground issue, the pavement has leveled them off nicely though...........yes I need shortys
