EFI Kit

Hi, been looking into swapping the original throttle body out on my 87 r10 pickup for either the EZ EFI or the Holley Avenger EFI. Seems like either one is not all that complicated to install. Just wondering if anyone had done this and is there anything I need to be concerned with. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: EFI Kit

If you have a working / functional TBI now , why would you replace it with an easy EFI setup?

I looked into installing it and the only draw back is the price , You can piece together a very nice TBI setup for a lot less $$$$ ($1200-1500)

Those kits are designed for a carburetor equipped vehicle swap to fuel injection.

Re: EFI Kit

I'm just looking to upgrade a bit, might wanna go with the 4 injector setup too. The only thing I'm really curious about is if I need to install a new distributor. Thanks

Re: EFI Kit

If you want to upgrade ------> ram jet it!!

You would have to upgrade to Vortec heads.

The Ram Jet would be my choice for my ZZ4.

Re: EFI Kit

if you want to upgrade your TBI, best to go to a MPFI setup. Carburetor type wet manifold fuel systems is just outdated, best for swapping older vehicles.

Ram Jet or Holley stealth ram is a good way to go. To save some money you can re-wire the stock TBI harness for MPFI.
