Fuel lines and 5.3 ?

Alright, so i've been looking to get a 67-72 pick up but i'd really like to have the reliability of a lsx based engine .. So I have some questions. I'm trying to get a budget worked out for what it would cost me.

Fuel line:
I've found it to cost about $350 -> $400 depending on if its return or returnless to the stock tank. I'll write out my layout, let me know if this seems correct.

Returnless:
20 Ft Braided

Feed Line:
Tank(Russell#610160 or Russell#612180) -> Hose -> (Russell#670470+Russell#610020)Walbro 255(Russell#670470+Russell#610020) -> Hose -> (Russell#640850+Russell#610020)Wix33737 Regulator(Russell#640940+Russell#610020) -> Hose -> (Russell#640850+Russell610020) Fuel Rail
Return Line:
Wix33737 Regulator(Russell#640860+Russell#610020) -> Hose -> Not sure how it will return to tank yet. Seen couple ideas.

Return Style:
20 Ft Braided? maybe more

Feed Line:
Tank(Russell#610160 or Russell#612180) -> Hose -> (Russell#670470+Russell#610020)Walbro 255(Russell#670470+Russell#610020) -> Hose -> (Russell#640850+Russell#610020) Fuel Rail.

Return Line:
Fuel Rail(Russell#640860+Russell#610020) -> Hose -> Not sure how it will return to tank yet. Seen a couple ideas

I think what I have here is pretty accurate to what it would be like using Russell AN -6 line and fittings.

Also, could you help me get a list of things I should be able to get along with my pullout? I was quoted for 1400 for a 80k mile 5.3 without tranny for complete pullout which included the engine, intake, accessories, manifolds, computer.

My list:
5.3l w/ 80k
Accessories - Starter, alternator, ?
Computer
Wiring harness
Intake
Manifolds
DBW pedal if applicable

is 1400 a good price for a complete pullout? Is there a cheaper way to run fuel lines? Thanks.

Re: Fuel lines and 5.3 ?

I think you can save a lot by not running braided line all the way. I used braided to connect to the tank, filter and regulator but used 3/8 hard line every where else.

Would I still need to use the Russell AN fittings? Or do they connect in a different way? Whats killing is the price of all the connectors.

Re: Fuel lines and 5.3 ?

there would still be fittings adapting the steel line to the braided, and for the fuel rail and such, but you save a good amount taking out 8ft of braided hose and using $8 worth of brake line instead.

Re: Fuel lines and 5.3 ?

Ive been running Nylon fuel line for the last year or so on all swaps. Cheap & Easy. http://www.fuelsender.com/fuel_line.html, Here's the same kit kit I have for $175. http://www.wayfair.com/S.U.R.-and-R-...FdSPPAodFzQAnw
Has everything to do returnless & return style fuel systems.

The Nylon fuel hose is easy to kink....So be carefull.

Re: Fuel lines and 5.3 ?

If anyone is familiar with the KP1200 set up. Could you let me know if I have the right setup for this?

Feed Line:
Fuel Tank -> K100 -> Nylon hose -> K075 -> Walbro255 -> K075 -> Nylon Hose -> KP020 -> Wix 33737 -> Dorman 800-155 -> Nylon Hose -> KP020

Return Line:
Wix 33737 -> KP040 -> Nylon Hose -> K050

I'm mostly worried about the K075's fitting into the Walbro 255.
If this works I'll be right around $350 for all the fueling system.. Lines, connectors, pump and regulator.

You will need 2 Walbro 128-3012 "Bundy" style fittings for the pump, Then the KP020 quick disconnects will plug right in

What is the difference between the Kp020 and Kp030?
3/6-5/16 Straight push quick connect.. It seems misleading.. can this be used as a kp020 and a kp040?

If so the kit comes with every BUT the 128.3012 bundy.

EDIT: How does my complete pullout list look?

For 1400 he said it was a "complete change over" without tranny 1400.

80k 5.3
intake
wire harness
throttle body
exhaust manifolds
coil packs
mech or electric fans
all accessories which should include; starter, alternator, power steering pump, the belt, AC compressor. (I won't be running AC, but might as well get it)
DBW Tach, Harness, Pedal
Computer
All Sensors?.. So MAF and O2
All plugs
PCM
Oil pan
Fuse Box
Fuel rails
Power steering res
Radiator Hoses
ECU
Pulleys
Radiator?( has anyone fit or used one from a silverado?)

Let me know how close my list is.

Re: Fuel lines and 5.3 ?

I used aluminum hardlines with tubing nuts to AN 90' elbows out of my Boyde tank with internal pump going to the filter/regulator, which I mounted on the tank. Used the summit AN quick connects to the filter reg. Then short push in to filter/reg dischard with braised on AN fitting. Short section braided stainless to slip on An onto steel hardline up to engine compartment. Another short section of Braided stainless and Russell An to quick connect on fuel rail. Works great.

The 3/8-5/16 fittings are no good to you on a swap, So it does look like you need an extra KP020.
I dont use external fuel pumps....So this uses more fittings than Im used to.
