Re: Barrett Jackson Las Vegas today.

Dang for that price you would think that the seat belt recievers would have been a color that compliments the interior... Some people have a lot of left over money out there.

Re: Barrett Jackson Las Vegas today.

That's a lot of money for what appears to be a nice driver quality truck but not a competitive show truck. Unless the description and photo just flat aren't showing a lot of stuff that someone sees when they are there looking at it.

Re: Barrett Jackson Las Vegas today.

I just don't see it. No wonder that people think their trucks are high dollar machines when you go and try to buy one to start your project.

Re: Barrett Jackson Las Vegas today.

That orange truck is nice but what would make anyone pay $49K for it? I guess it was a combination of alcohol consumption and those "fun ostrich inserts" in the seats, LOL. Look at the underhood pic, it's not that impressive.

It sure did make me feel good about my $60 thousand dollar $30 thousand dollar truck project. I guess I just need to go to Barrett Jackson but I don't know if I have the kohonies.

Re: Barrett Jackson Las Vegas today.

After looking at the under hood photo there is dirt in the distributer cap, loose wires laying around not tho mention the wire wrapped around the A/C hoses to hold them back.

Re: Barrett Jackson Las Vegas today.

I went to this show a few years ago with a buddy from Germany, who is a Porsche fan. It was interesting to get a Euro's perspective on our car culture. He laughed at the muscle cars. "All zay do ece goh in zee straight pahth?"

He did, however, appreciate the body lines from the 50's up to the mid 70's. But added, "Eet ece too baht you cannut drive zem een kaunahs..."

funny... a $12-16k truck going for over triple that...

Photos hide alot of flaws - and this thing is still LOADED with em. hell the firewall would have looked better with holes than those terrible welded fills.

Whoever bought the green truck got 3X the truck than the first truck, for only 1.5X the money. At that math, its a steal! aside from the fact that its probably over 25k overpriced

I do have one question though, should the buyer be concerned that the VIN plate isnt where it should be? if its there at all..... ???

Re: Barrett Jackson Las Vegas today.

Guess the insurance value of mine when I get it running just went up. I would tink for 50K on the orange one they would have done a better job under the hood. New owner will figure it out first time the wiring goes Tango Uniform on him and fries 25K of his "investment". Reminds me of a couple of the current auto resto shown on TV. Everything is rattle can black, no prep or prime just get it so it looks sorta new. New one just started up (Mopars from the grave or something like that) that the whole hour was the guy hollering at his future son in law, brother and daughter, no build info just drama. I had it tivo'd and sped thru it then deleted the record option.

Re: Barrett Jackson Las Vegas today.

Here is the link to the list of vehicles that are up for auction pretty well in the order that they will go across the stage.
http://www.barrett-jackson.com/appli...&ed=09/21/2012

Ok third time is a charm. If you click on the car number (bold numbers) it will bring up the detail sheet on the car/truck and tell what it sold for.

20,350 is what it sold for. That truck has a looong list of goodies on it though. I don't think you would have change left from 20 K if you bought that parts list and set them in the garage.

Re: Barrett Jackson Las Vegas today.

Nice one and it looks well worth the selling price. I played the fantasy bid this afternoon and second guessed my self too many times and only got points on one bid.

Not sure if you meant that to be funny but I laughed pretty hard just the same. I seem to make everything naughty...

Re: Barrett Jackson Las Vegas today.

I got offered $30K for mine last week and laughed at the offer. I have less than that in it but I don't really want to start over. My time is worth something to me, not much but something. The auction prices always seem crazy, though.

http://www.speedfantasybid.com/ Fun to do while watching the auction and see if you can figure out what the vehicles will sell for.

My internet service was down from about 11am yesterday to after midnight last night so I didn't get to bid yesterday and out of four I bid on Friday afternoon I went over on 3 and got 20 points on one being 10K under. They give prizes for the closest bid on each car along with who has the most points for the day and who has the most points for the whole auction. So far I've never won a prize but it' fun to do.
