Re: help! its tire time. help please....
I like 235/75's on stock wheel/stock height C10's myself. A 195/75 is rather small for a truck, I have 205/70's on the back of my lowered VW bug!

I ran 235/75/15 for a while. If you like a wide oldschool style 255/70/15.

Re: help! its tire time. help please....
235-75-15 blackwalls all the way baby!!!! Mine are on the stock skinny steelies (1st pic).
But you can't go wrong with your truck - ANYthing will look great on it! I agree with Rockdog also, 255-70-15 is also a nice size, but significantly beefier than a "stock" look - see 2nd pic. |

Re: help! its tire time. help please....
Having a slightly taller tire will also help your rpms. The actual diameter is 195/75/15=26.5in, 205/75/15=27.1in, 215/75/15=27.7in, 235/75/15=28.9in, 255/70/15=29.1in. 6cyl don't spin fast

Re: help! its tire time. help please....
I'm running the 235s now, only problem you may have wit the 700r4 will be connecting the tv cable, especially if you have 1bbl. I've been considering that swap for a long time, but I also have 3.38s in the rear

Re: help! its tire time. help please....
i just got the truck back from the 700r4 conversion and everything is working fine. i just thought that the larger tire might give it too high of a ratio. or loss of power?

Re: help! its tire time. help please....
Hey so what do you think about the 700 behind the L6 and what add-ons are you running (gears, intake, carb, exhaust. I was gonna go with a 283 or a 327 bc i wasnt sure how well the little six would handle the 700? Also (and MOST IMPORTANT ?) is how may MPGs are you getting now.

Re: help! its tire time. help please....
Also very interested in that TV setup for the 6, I've been hoping to do a 200-r4 swap. I run 235/75 15s and the 6 can spin them fine, it'll even bark into 2nd. They are skinny though with only about 6.5 inches touching the road in each corner, I'd go with a 255/70-15.

yote wrote: thx for complement... after seeing your truck again i probably will go 235/75/r15.
but wont they look too wide? yote, as far as performance goes - an inch or so difference in tire size (dia) isn't really going to be noticeable as far as what you feel in the seat of your pants - but you'll just note your speedo is off a bit. As far as width - here is a better shot (pic #1) to show how wide the 235s look - they really don't look "wide" at all to me though - look pretty stock - but you can tell a difference when you see bone stock side by side with the 235s. I just always thought the 235s filled the wheelwell better than stock size (see pic #2 & #3 - #2 is a side shot of a 235, #3 is the no-kidding original 66 bias ply spare on the truck from back when I was experimenting with wheel colors). |

Re: help! its tire time. help please....
nope, it was completely dry rotted - just does't look that way in the pic because I actually sprayed part of the tire too...! It was quite trashed, sorry.
