Questions on lowering a 1961 GMC

Hey guys, my buddy just picked up a 1961 GMC 1/2 ton, long bed. He's like to lower it and I'm running into a lack of info on dropping the front. Drop springs start at 1963 and I've only been able to find drop spindles for disc brakes. Anyone out there have any info on getting the front end down without breaking the bank? Thanks.

Re: Questions on lowering a 1961 GMC

Swap to a 63-87 front crossmember, then get lowering springs. You can pickup a crossmember from a pick n pull cheap. Then coils or blocks in the back.

On the super cheap you could turn down the torsion bars on the front but in my experience it will ride like poop. Then you could cut the coils on the back, although I dont reccomend this because the coiks aren't captured on the bottom.

I know your new but please try the search function, not trying to be an ass but the info is out there just gotta look a little harder.

Regards, Mike.
