Revised: under bench seat for the first time?

What did you find under your seat of your square the first time you ever looked? I was under mine for the first time tonight and found a dead bird and was so shocked that it did not cause an odor.

Re: Revised: under bench seat for the first time?

I got my 85 swb last summer. I found a newspaper from 1988 under the seat along with a bunch of receipts from that time frame all the way up until 2001 or so. I'm sure that stuff just kept accumulating under there until the original owner sold the truck. The guy before me must have just never cleaned it out.

I had it a whole 2 days before the seat was sitting on the driveway and I was scrubbing years of dirt out of it. No more junk under there now...

Re: Revised: under bench seat for the first time?

when I tore out my carpet I found a pair of scissors that fold into what looks like a pair of small glasses, an actual pair of dirty 80s sunglasses, change, and receipts from the 70s

A pen, salt packet, a little over a dollar in change, a flathead and about half a quart of oil spilled and soaked into the carpet/padding.

My father-in-law was not exactly a "tidy" person -

My biggest concern was that I would find a firearm of some kind.

I found a Colt 45 auto under the seat in my 76. Ran the numbers, not stolen. The truck is long since gone but I still have the gun.

If it ain't broke, there is still probably room for improvement.

Re: Revised: under bench seat for the first time?

I found a PROTO PIPE from 1986 with some weed still in it. I called the previous owner (my bud from high school) and told him. He told me he dropped it in 1986 or so and had a hell of a time looking for it as it was his last bit of stash.... It was actually in the cab corner so he wasn't going to find it. I guess that's what started the rust? A shame it looked like it was once some good stuff.
