Re: Need some help or pics for this
It operates the fresh air flap in the cowel, which has the post broken off or is missing alltogether. LMC sells them. Here is a pic.....

Re: Need some help or pics for this
I think he might be talking about the arm/linkage that goes from the diaphragm to the firewall. Reason i say that is mine is also missing and i need one to. Been meaning to look for one for a while now.

Re: Need some help or pics for this
The arm/link you guys are talking about is the post on the flap...all one piece. Look at the LMC link I posted. You have to replace the whole flap.

Re: Need some help or pics for this
Unless I'm wrong the arm doesn't come with the flap. The body shop lost mine a long time ago.

Re: Need some help or pics for this
Your right Dave but if the post is not sticking out of the hole it is broken off. The arm slips over the post and is held on by a screw in a thru hole on the post. Be very carefull when you put the new pieces together as there is not a lot of meat around the thru hole and if you don't have the stock screw and use what you think will fit tight (like I did) the screw will break the post at the thru hole. Ask me how I know.

Re: Need some help or pics for this
If all your missing is the arm it would be easy to make one out of hollow tubing, measure for length, flatten one end and bend it 90 deg and drill a hole for the diaphram and another hole where it slips over the post. Just a thought.
Probably easier to find one on the parts board though

Re: Need some help or pics for this
Brad, here a pic of what i have (not deliberately trying to hijack the thread) so what your telling me is we both need that flap and pieces, the arm and the white plastic piece (he has the white pc)?? How hard was it to replace yours? Any ideas as to where we could find that arm?

Re: Need some help or pics for this
Yep, you need the flap, arm and plastic piece. You can get the flap from LMC (only supplier I found) and make the arm and plastic piece that goes on the firewall. You might get lucky on the parts board with the plastic piece and the arm but the flaps are probably all toast (weak design).
If you would like I can pull my arm and draw one up for you to make (I draw on a computer for a living), same with the plastic piece. Look on the pic you posted...the little screw on the top of the arm goes through the flap post, thats what holds the arm to the post and allows the whole thing to turn. You should be able to look in the cowel and see the flap (if its there). Reach in and pull the pin with the spring on it and take the flap out. Should come out easy with the post broke off. If I can help you guys out let me know, I'll be glad to.

Re: Need some help or pics for this
For the plastic just use a o-ring. I did away with mine all together. Mine runs 38 degree's all the time. I sealed it up with ac tape and a peice of thin sheetmetal.
The arm is a simple fix as stated. Tubing the right size and use a small cotter key are very small screw.
