Re: steering column swap

I have had kind of the same question. I know the '70s van columns with dash key interchange, but can you use an '80s van column with column key? Very little changed in the van. I have an '83 van tilt column with wiper and cruise on the stalk. Some day I am going to build a '69-70 on a 2001 up frame using late components. I may want a later column to keep the variable wiper and cruise functions. I would leave the key on the dash and smooth the column where the key was (mine was a theft recovery and the lock cylinder was pulled and and that area damaged).
