Like it was really an issue at <$.31 a gallon! 1959 prices that is. About $2.18 at today's prices adjusted for inflation.

I hear ya. I'm just a bit surprised with 40 mpg carb'd. But then again my 57's inline 6 is getting 2 more miles a gallon then my 01 S10 4 banger.

That is a neat video.
The problem was that those Renaults wouldn't get that gas milesge for long. They fell apart and/or rusted away not too long after you got it, LOL. I had friends who had them and they were not good cars. Seems funny but people were concerned about gas mileage back then even at less than thirty cents per gallon. |

I have traveled that highway several times. It doesn't look like that any more. Good shot of Muncho Lake BTW. Too bad it wasn't color. Anyway, thanks for posting a great vid.
