Re: Converting to disk-can I use my original ball joints and tie-rod ends
You will have to use '76 upper and lower balljoints, and outer tie rod ends.
I suggest you skip the '76 spindles. Buy some 63-70 conversion spindles for $219 and BOLT THEM ON! No need to change balljoints or tie rods.

Your other option is to use all of the '76 front suspension.
Everything from the a-arms out. Plus ALL of the steering linkage. I would seriously look at all the donor parts prior to using them. Most are wore out and need to be replaced with new.

I just rebuilt my front end and want to stay with 6 lug so I wonder if taking anything off of the 76 in the junkyard would help offset the cost.

Ona side note we found that van spindles seem to give a little drop. Also a bolt on situation like the pick up stuff. This conversion is so easy its scary. I kick myself for not doing it several years ago.

I am kind of looking to keep stock height but little of a drop in the front wouldn't hurt handling. So how much would you say they drop?

Re: Converting to disk-can I use my original ball joints and tie-rod ends
I wouldn't say more than an inch. I really cany verify this but the truck seem to sit even lower than it did before the swap. It also has drop srings in it. I t may have been easier to tell with the stock springs. I wonder if anyone else has had this happen. either way it was unintentional but needless to say my son was happy.
